For many people, Christmas isn’t just a fun time of year. Instead, it can be a stressful couple of months in the lead up to Christmas, with many people finding that the idea of trying to find the perfect gift for friends and family is more than a little overwhelming.

If you’re the type to leave your Christmas shopping until the last minute and then end up wandering fruitlessly around the mall on Christmas Eve, this year needs to be different.

First, begin by writing a list of all the people you’ll need to buy gifts for, and next to their name, write a few of their hobbies, some of the types of things they enjoy, and some ideas for gifts.

Keep this list it in your purse or wallet as you’re out and about, and you’ll be able to cross each name off as you come across the best gift for each person.

To be even more organised, consider devoting one afternoon each weekend for Christmas preparations. That can include buying new decorations if the old ones are looking a bit old, planning Christmas dinner, and buying gifts for a few people each time.

Still not convinced? If you’ve left things until the last minute, your best option is to head down to Liverpool One. Here, you’ll find everything you need to ensure that Christmas goes off without a hitch.

The plan? Take what’s left on your list, and head to the mall first thing in the morning, before the crowds of shoppers arrive. Before you get there, download the app, study the map, and plan out which shops you need to go to, so you’ll get a good idea of where to start and can tackle your shopping methodically.

Once it’s lunchtime, you’ll know it’s time for a break and to recharge your batteries. Meet a friend for lunch at one of the many restaurants, or take a book, have a coffee and a nice big lunch, and spend an hour relaxing before you need to hit the rest of the shops. You may also want to run back to the car to drop off your bags if you’re finding that your arms are getting tired from lugging around so many different things.

While you’re eating, think about the last few things you’ll need to pick up, and plan how to get to each store. Finally, you’ll be treating yourself to a well-earned pampering session (consider a facial or massage). The idea of relaxing will get you through the day, and you’ll be rewarding yourself for your hard work, unwinding, and hopefully ignoring the fact that you’ll soon need to wrap all of those gifts yourself (unless you were able to get them wrapped in-store.

If you have any time left, why not leave Liverpool ONE, and instead visit one of Liverpool’s many cultural attractions? You’ll find plenty to keep you occupied in the area after you’ve successfully organised yourself for Christmas.
