Sydney is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Australia and for good reason; it has a lot to offer. From some of the most famous landmarks to some of the best beaches, this bustling city is an ideal holiday destination. I have visited Sydney a few times and enjoyed every trip. If you like shopping, good coffee, art, lounging on a beach and beautiful landscapes then Sydney is for you. Check out my top three must-see destinations in Sydney:

1) The Three Sisters

The Blue Mountains are a stark contrast from the CBD of Sydney and while they are a bit of a drive outside of the city, they are definitely worth the visit. The easiest way to see the Blue Mountains would be to arrange  Sydney airport car hire and then use your car to get there. There are trains that go directly to the Blue Mountains but the advantage with hiring a car is that you can stop off along the way, enjoying all the great photo opportunities. For a country that is mostly made up of desert, the Blue Mountains are lush, stunning and full of fresh air. You can ride on an old school tram that is somewhat terrifying and enjoy the sweeping views from the scenic cableway.

2) Bondi Beach

I love a good beach and Bondi beach is really the perfect city beach. The sand is soft and golden, the surf is good, there’s a street lined with shops and cafe and it’s just got such a great vibe. As one of Sydney’s most famous beaches, Bondi beach is always busy and at times can become downright crowded. There’s also a very lovely walk you can do from Bondi to Coogee which is quite famous and a great way to spend an afternoon. Don’t forget to pack some sunscreen as Australia’s sun can be very harsh.

3) The Opera House

This is probably the most famous building in all of Australia and for good reason – it’s unique shape provides an interesting silhouette against the harbour. Personally, I really enjoyed the view of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge from the ferry ride to Manly beach. Most people visit the Opera House only to look at it, but it actually houses a restaurant and is often the venue of a number of shows – check what’s currently showing during your intended visit.

Sydney is a great city that is diverse, warm and filled with fun activities. These are my top 3 must see places in Sydney.
