Powerhouse Museum, Sydney
‘Dull & boring’ are stereotypes that tend to linger around traditional museums, but Sydney’s Powerhouse challenges this preconception. As part of the MAAS trilogy, the Powerhouse aims to develop learners understanding of past, present and future of STEM subjects, through interactive experiences. The vibrant exhibitions and activity programmes are sure to keep little ones engaged for the day. As a bonus, it makes for a cheap day out, with free admission for under 16’s and only $15 for adults.
Sydney by Kayak
Sydney by Kayak offers tourists the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the famous harbour from the waters perspective. We would recommend the Sunrise Kayak and coffee tour for spectacular views of the Sydney harbour bridge and opera house as they are illuminated by the early morning rays. Guests can even pay a small fee of $30 to have their experience captured forever with stunning photography.
Sydney Bridge Climb
If you’re travelling with thrill seeking teens, then the Sydney bridge climb is for you. The adrenaline alone makes for an unforgettable experience. The Twilight tour offers the best of both worlds, you can watch as the sunsets on the harbour and enjoy the sparkling lights as darkness surrounds the city. The climb to the upper, outer arch can take around 3.5 hours, but the panoramic views from the top are worth the effort.
Bondi Icebergs Pool
Within the renowned Bondi beach lies the most photographed ocean pool in Australia. The Bondi Baths are adjacent to the sea front and offer infinite views of the horizon. Yet another must visit sunset destination. On rougher days, you can watch as the waves come crashing over the sides of the pool – you’ll need your camera at the ready!

Less than an hour’s drive from Sydney, you’ll find the Royal National Park. With bike tracks, walking trails and tranquil waters, it makes for the perfect family day out. Step away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre and live like a local with a barbeque at the Wattomolla picnic area followed by snorkelling and swimming in the calms of the lagoon. Take an afternoon walk up to the ‘Wedding Cake Rock’, a highlight of the Coast Track and see how the pure white stone protrudes from the rest of the sandstone cliff – it’s a true natural wonder!
