4 Ways to Get Prepared for the Holidays

The holidays are my absolute favorite time of year, but the truth is they can be a little stressful, too. This year is a different kind of holiday with everything that’s going on, but a little more preparation can ensure that it is still a wonderful holiday season. Here are my 4 ways to get prepared for the holiday season so you can enjoy a stress-free time with your loved ones.

1. Who Will Host

Figuring out who will host is one of the biggest questions and even more important this year. Depending on where in the world you are, there may currently be some kind of restrictions on travel or gatherings. While it’s impossible to predict what’s to come, we can probably guess that things are going to stay roughly the same over the coming months. As such, it could be a good idea to see who will host your holiday celebrations.

2. Don’t Delay Your Christmas Cards

I really enjoy creating custom Christmas cards every year and mailing them to my loved ones. This year I’m deciding to work on my holiday card early, because that way if there are any delays due to COVID-19, then I’ll be ahead of the game. I enjoy making photo christmas cards, so that way I can collect them myself and see how my family grows and changes each year. 3. Think About Your Budget

One of things that people find most stressful about Christmas, is the financial aspect. I try to set aside money throughout the year, so by the time Christmas rolls around I’m not so overwhelmed by the expenses. You’re going to want to set aside a budget for gifts, for actual Christmas celebrations and then any extras that are important to your family such as custom Christmas cards, and family photoshoots. Add up the total, and break it down into how many more weeks we have until the holidays and that’s how much you need to set aside. The earlier you start saving, the better.

4. Buy From Small Businesses

While it can be tempting to find all your gifts on Amazon, this year has been exceptionally tough on small businesses. For that reason, where you can, I suggest that you do some shopping from smaller ma and pa stores or shops that are local to you. This year is all about putting our money where it is important to us, and by shopping local you’re helping these stores stay open. Amazon is going to be just fine without your hard earned cash.

The holidays are such a fun time of year, but they can wear us all down if we’re not prepared for them. Hopefully these 4 tips ensure that you feel prepared for the holidays.
