Best Snowboarding Destinations for 2021

This year has been a little more challenging than we expected going into it, with many countries closed to tourism. This has impacted travel plans across the globe. Things are starting to slowly open up a bit more now, so if you’re thinking of planning a snowboarding trip for this year, read on to see some of the world’s best snowboarding destinations for 2021.

1. Colorado Mountains, USA
The USA is open to vaccinated tourists from a number of countries, making it a good option if you’re wanting to hit the slopes somewhere overseas or if you’re based in the USA it will be an easy trip. Colorado boasts over 20 different fields for you to enjoy, allowing you to visit a number of fields on the same trip. One piece of advice if you’re going to spend more than a few days at the mountain, it makes sense to buy mens snowboards so that you’re not spending hundreds of dollars on rental fees. It’s also nice to have your own gear, because you can really get to know how it works and it can help you advance in your skiing or snowboarding faster, in my opinion.

2. St Anton, Austria
Austria is a stunning country to visit, with some of the world’s best landscapes, making it a wonderful destination for skiing and snowboarding. While the slopes themselves are great and sure to challenge even the most competent skiiers, the real charm to St Anton is how lovely the villages are. You can ski both sides of the resort, ensuring that there are a lot of different runs to enjoy. Be sure to pay a visit to some of the neighbouring villages, such as Schnann and sample a hot chocolate – it’s a real treat. You can easily keep yourself entertained here for weeks, so be sure to plan a longer visit.

3. Courchevel, France
This is the largest ski area in all of Europe and is considered one of the best places to ski in the world. One of the biggest draws to this ski field is that it’s very family friendly. There are free chairlifts in the beginner areas, which is a huge incentive if you’re traveling with young children who may not make it much further than that during the season. There are even magnetic safety vests provided for free, to ensure that the children are safe on the lifts. On top of that there is also wonderful luxury accomodation nearby and numerous fine dining restaurants so you’ll be well taken care of during your stay.

4. The Remarkables, New Zealand

Although it’s too late for a ski season in New Zealand for 2021, it’s worth including on the list due to how beautiful the scenery is. Located close to Wanaka and Queenstown, two of New Zealand’s top tourism destinations, the Remarkables are a challenging field with breathtaking views. New Zealand has been closed off to tourism for the majority of the pandemic, but hopefully it will open up in 2022 and allow visitors back on it’s beautiful slopes.

Snowboarding is such a fun activity to do with both friends and family. Hopefully these destinations help inspire you for your next snowboarding or skiing trip.
