There’s only so much that you can do when you are in a car the majority of the time, right? Right? Wrong! There are plenty of ways that you can make this trip fun for your kids, you just need to think about it a little. Best Snacks Ever
Kids love snacks, so what better way to kick things off than by talking about them? When you’re bored, you often mistake this for hunger and while this isn’t good, when you’re in a car for ages, sometimes grazing can help to give you something to do. So, having an awesome pack of snacks is going to be a fantastic idea for both you and your kids. Of course, you’re still going to have to stop for meals unless you are in an RV in which you can cook them yourself!
Snacks though! We understand wanting your kids to eat healthy, but don’t be boring while on this trip. Sure, pack the cucumber sticks and the carrot sticks. Bring the apples and the bananas. But, also make room for the good stuff. Get their favorite sweets, snacks, and chocolate ready for this adventure.
Stop For Fun
There is no rule that says you cannot stop for fun along the way. You don’t have to be confined to the car for the majority of the time, you can stop in the places that you pass through if you think that there is something for the kids there. For example, if you’re passing through Columbus, then you might want to visit the indoor park Columbus residents know and love. Or, if you know that you’re going to be passing nearby somewhere with a theme park, stop and take the day to explore. Your kids will love this, and it will tire them out so they don’t constantly ask if you’re there yet!
Engage With Them
Finally, engage with them. Talk to them about their lives. Play games with them such as I spy or name the capital of the country. While it might not sound thrilling, it’s fun, especially for younger children. Sometimes it’s just nice to spend time with the people that you love, you know?
