If you are planning ahead or spring and summer then things can feel a little unknown at the moment. With a whole list of countries putting travel bans in place, knowing what will be in place in the next few months is uncertain. But if you are wanting to make plans, then it could be a good idea to think about planning a staycation instead. Of course, you will need to factor in the weather, depending on when you plan to go and what you plan to do. However, when you don’t have to think about luggage allowance or changing your money, you can plan an ideal trip to suit you. Here are some essentials that are a must for a staycation.

Packing list for everyone travelling

Some people are definitely ‘list’ people. Others are not. But even if you aren’t, making a list can be a good idea for a staycation, as you want to make sure that you have all that you need. It is a good idea to have a list for packing, for all of the people that are coming with you. You don’t want to forget your sunglasses or your walking boots, or forget your son’s hat or wellie boots. Think about what you will want to do where you go, and then think about all of the things that you’ll need, in order to enjoy it the most.

Packing cubes

If you haven’t heard of packing cubes, then they are a great thing that can help you when you pack. You can choose them in a variety of different sizes, and will help you to make sure that your luggage is organised. You can choose different cubes for different things, such as one for toiletries, one for underwear, and one for dresses, for example. They can be easily taken out of your case and pop them in the drawers at your staycation accommodation, making things really simple.

Portable speaker

If you are dining al fresco on your trip, then having a speaker with you can come in really handy to set the mood for chilling or for fun. You never know, it could turn into a post-dinner disco! Even if you are out on a picnic or playing a game of rounders, having a speaker that works without having to be plugged in can just be the extra thing to put you in a holiday mood.

Strategic car packing

When you’ve made your lists and have decided on what you are going to take with you, then getting it all in the car is the next thing on the list. In order to do just that, then you need to pack the car in a strategic way. You might arrive late at night and in the dark, possibly in the rain. If you have to empty out the car to get to your overnight bag, then you could be wasting a lot of time. Things like beach gear or portable BBQs are going to be best packed in the bottom of the car, with your handbags and things on the top.
